Mandelic acid

What is it?

Mandelic acid is an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from bitter almonds that acts on the stratum corneum by reducing corneocyte bonding. It also has an antimicrobial effect.

What does it do for your skin?

Larger than other alpha hydroxy acids, it penetrates less and more slowly, considerably reducing the possibility of irritations appearing on the skin. This makes it ideal for sensitive and reactive skin and skin areas. It is highly effective at eliminating fine lines and improving firmness.

Thanks to its antimicrobial properties, it is very effective at treating oily, acne-prone skin and blackheads. Its antimicrobial properties also limit the breakdown of sweat and subsequent body odour.
